Back to School

Hey, Y'all!  Today is the first day of school for teachers in my school district, so my teacher friends are returning to work. They are attending meetings, getting their class lists, making copies, and working on their classrooms.

I'm not there though
This would have been my 22nd year of teaching, but we have decided that I will stay home with our kiddos. I have been really pumped about this all summer long, but now am feeling oddly emotional about the start of the new school year. I have to admit that my throat feels tight, and I just might be holding back a few tears as I type this.  I guess I'm really realizing "the end" of what was my "normal."

A LOT of thought, discussion, and prayer went into making this decision. It was really such a surprise to be considering it.  I never even thought that I would WANT to stay home. I love teaching.  I never thought it would be possible for us to give up that income.  Turns out it won't be easy but possible.  It's funny how we started joking about me staying home when we had baby #1, our sweet A, and we continued to joke about it when L was born.  Now that baby #3, little C, has come along, I can't believe we're making it happen.

I will be a stay at home mom to my 3 littles.  Oh! And I'll be homeschooling kindergarten for my oldest AND my husband works from home as wellAs my 4 year old says, "This will be interesting." So...today officially starts a new adventure in our lives. Despite the fact that change can be scary, I'm super excitedI invite you to join us on this new adventure!
